Young Innovators Shine at District-Level Bihar Children’s Science Research Programme 2025

Under the Bihar Children’s Science Research Programme 2025, a district-level project presentation was organized on Monday at the local Regional Secondary School. More than 100 enthusiastic students from various blocks of the district participated and showcased their innovative and informal scientific projects. The primary objective of the programme was to develop scientific thinking among children and inspire them to find practical solutions to social and environmental challenges.
The event was inaugurated jointly by DPO (Secondary Education) Kundan Kumar and members of the judging panel. Present on the occasion were several distinguished academicians and subject experts, including Dr. Kuwar Rauth Dr. R. S. Pandey, Prof. Arindam Kumar, Dr. Manoj Kumar Jha, Pratyush Parimal, R. K. Jha and Sitaram Yadav.
Speaking at the event, DPO Kundan Kumar praised the projects presented by the young scientists. He said that at a time when soil fertility is declining and the water crisis is increasing, children conducting research on these issues is a positive sign. He added that soil and water conservation has become a major challenge and the ideas presented by students show promising directions for sustainable solutions.

Dr R S. Pandey emphasized that proper management of natural resources is essential for food security and environmental health. The experiments and studies conducted by students were truly commendable.
Meanwhile, Kunwar ji Raut highlighted the need for continued research on food production, storage, processing, climate–agriculture relations and weather patterns.
Prof. Arindam Kumar stated that the Bihar Children’s Science Research Programme provides a powerful platform for nurturing innovation and scientific understanding among students. It encourages them to identify real-life problems and work towards meaningful solutions.
Science Coordinator Dr. Manoj Kumar Jha noted that Bihar is an agriculture-dominated state, and therefore, promoting agriculture-based innovations among students is extremely important.
Addressing the gathering, Pratyush Parimal said that young scientists are the future of the nation and must be consistently encouraged.
During the event, two students from Utkrist Maha Vidyalaya, Matagachhi, Devaraj Kumar and Rishi Kumar, were selected for their project on Modern Agriculture Methods. They will now participate in the state-level programme scheduled for December 20–21 in Madhubani. Both students were honoured with certificates by DCA Mani Bhushan Prasad.
Other notable projects included a Blind Sensor Device designed by a boy student to help visually impaired individuals avoid obstacles, and a Driver Drowsiness Alarm created by a student from Utkrist Vidyalaya Ladariya to prevent road accidents caused by drowsy driving.
Overall, the event highlighted the creativity and scientific spirit of young minds who continue to emerge as the nation’s budding scientists.
