 Under the aegis of District Congress Committee Madhubani, the great freedom fighter of freedom movement, Maulana abdul kalam azad, the country's first education minister, 134th birth anniversary  was celebrated under the chairmanship of District President Prof.Shitlambar jha. 

 On his portrait, the Congress men paid tribute by paying floral tributes by remembering them earnestly.

 Addressing the gathering, District President Prof. Jha threw light on the personality and work of Maulana Azad in detail.  In the country's independence movement, under the leadership of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, raised a mass movement against the British and challenged the British rule by conducting a plebiscite.  So he had to endure jail tortures many times.

 After the independence of the country, Maulana became the first education minister in Jawaharlal Nehru's cabinet and he worked to open schools in the remotest villages of the country, leaving no stone unturned to spread the web of education all over India, that is why today his birth anniversary is celebrated in the form of education in the country. He was a patriot in true sense.

 Amanullah Khan, Md. Aakil Anjum, Ashok Prasad, Rajiv Shekhar Jha, Binay Kumar Jha, Kirani Jha, Ganesh Prasad, Dhaneshwar Thakur, Shashi Prasad, Md. Sabir, Mahesh Sah, Mahesh Chaudhary, Dashrath Jha, Satyendra Paswan etc. were present in the programme.
