Madhubani : Awareness Programme at Navsrijit Primary School, Lakshmisagar Musahari
An environmental awareness programme was organized by Prabhat, Sakri at the newly established Primary School, Lakshmisagar Musahari, located 500 meters from Dumnath temple. The event witnessed the participation of Headmaster Ashvinod Kumar, teachers, Ward Councillor Vinay Rai, members of the Mother Committee and Eco Club members.
Plantation and Rally by students and Eco club
The students of the primary school along with children from Prabhat’s education centre held a rally, while Eco Club members carried out a plantation drive. The programme symbolized collective responsibility toward a greener future.
Welcome Address by Prabhat Director
Prabhat’s Director, Father Sebastian Babu, welcomed the guests and participants. He highlighted the current environmental challenges, noting:
Earlier, the region was well-known for its rainfall and floods.
Water scarcity was never a concern in the past.
However, in the last 7–8 years, rainfall has reduced, summers have become harsher, and groundwater levels have gone down drastically.
Excessive rainfall in some places causes floods, while lack of rainfall elsewhere creates droughts.
The main cause, he emphasized, is the reckless cutting of trees.
Call for a Collective Resolution
Father Babu urged everyone to pledge that each family should plant at least five saplings and ensure their protection. He stressed that only then can environmental balance be maintained.
Cultural Programmes and Voices of Support
Eco Club members presented cultural programmes on environmental themes, spreading awareness among the people.
Prabhat workers including Sajjan Saday, Asha Devi, Ajay Singh, Manohar Mandal and Chandra Kant Mishra also expressed their views, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility in protecting nature.
